Support for an old age home
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention”, Oscar
Wilde.
Kallol, since its inception in 2009, has truly been a celebration of life, where
everyone feels included, everyone feels at home. To celebrate life and create an atmosphere
of joy, warmth and inclusiveness, Kallol has been taking initiatives to give back to the
society we live in and also beyond; locally as well as globally. Initiatives for a worthy
cause, by either supporting financially, offering resources or by volunteering time.
In 2019, to commemorate the 10th year of the inception of the organisation, Kallol
joined hands with Buurtbuik in an initiative to serve the local neighbourhood. In May 2019,
some of the volunteers of kallol worked with Buurtbuik Amsterdam, to serve cooked food to
the community residents.
2020 was a year that tested our empathy, resilience, compassion and solidarity. In a world plagued with uncertainty, fear and helplessness, Kallol extended its hands to the artisans of Kumartuli, in Kolkata, India. As most of the Durga puja celebrations did not take place that year, the lives of the people associated with making the idols was severely impacted, posing a major challenge to sustain their livelihood.

Promotion of Kumartuli (Kolkata) artisans and their creativity
In 2021, Kallol joined hands with the “foundation for Indian Diaspora in Europe” to support India when the second wave of Covid 19 reached an alarming situation. With the funds collected, oxygen concentrators were sent to India to deal with the medical emergency.
In the same year, Kallol associated with Bharat Sevashram Sangha to support people whose lives were rampaged by the super cyclone Amphan.
This year, kallol stands in solidarity with the humanitarian crises situation in war torn Ukraine. Kallol has donated several packages of necessary items to the Red Cross Organisation, who are distributing these items to the needy in Ukraine. A couple of volunteers from Kallol had taken the items to the collection centre in Utrecht and also got an insight into the real crises by talking to the Ukranian lady who was collecting the items.

Donations for Ukraine refugees
Kallol strongly believes that when we grow, we share and we bring a smile. Our journey continues, celebrating our cohesiveness and compassion for each other, celebrating life, being kallol.
